Get to know me!
Hi I'm Valérie, I was born and grew up in France and have had a passion for food from an early age. I was always at a family restaurant, where I learnt so much about traditional french cuisine, watching, learning and probably generally getting in the way. At the age of 16 I started my apprenticeship whilst working at a local restaurant in the Loire Valley.
For the last 14 years I've lived and worked in Yorkshire developing a passion for local Yorkshire produce, bringing a French twist to Yorkshire food.
Having got the bug for great food, I knew that I wanted to learn more and make food my career. I trained and undertook my apprenticeship in France where I developed a great understanding of the French classics.
To expand my food knowledge and develop my understanding of different cuisines I moved to London where I worked at The Athenaeum Club & The RAC Club in Pall Mall. Whilst working in London I gained a wealth of culinary experience where I won the CSMA award in 1997. In 1999 I also won the League of Club Chefs competition.
To further enhance my food knowledge, I then travelled the world on the 6* cruise ship, the Silver Shadow with Silversea Cruises where I led a section in the Michelin star restaurant “le Champagne”
I have held a number of Head Chef positions and ran 2AA rosettes restaurants in Yorkshire and won Manager of the Year in 2009.
In the past few years, I have worked as a development chef, creating recipes and products for food retailers including celebrity chefs including Gordon Ramsay & Ainsley Harriott.
I was a finalist at the professional Grocery Aid Food manufacturer industry completion in 2015.
Since January 2018 I have been a chef consultant supporting manufactures and food producers as well as providing private dining dinner parties.
